CCF Global Scope [Lauren Love]

I was minding my own business when I first went to Salamanca, Spain to study abroad while I was still in school at Berry College. However, while I was there, I met a guy who was excited about a campus ministry that he and a team of four others were about to start. He told me, “Come back to Salamanca after you graduate from Berry and help lead worship for the ministry here.”

That’s what I did. I finished my last year at Berry, then in September of 2005, I headed back to Salamanca for a year. I had never worked for a campus ministry in my life, so I had a lot to learn. I thought I had gone over there just to lead worship for the ministry. I never knew that by the end of the year I would be leading worship for people who had never worshiped in their life, and these people were now my dear friends. This place taught me what it takes to love people selflessly, pursue them, and share the hope that I have in Jesus Christ with them.

It was during that year I learned that working with college students in a campus ministry was the work I wanted to pursue. Since then, God has made it clear to me that he wants me working with such students on a more long term basis.

So I have begun that long term work in Salamanca, having been in Salamanca for one year, and about to go back for my second year. I couldn’t be more excited about the students I already love there and will be continuing to work with!
